We manage and support people in homes and hostels in Newport, Chepstow, Abergavenny and across South East Wales.

Direct Access/Emergency Accommodation

albert-streetOur 21 bed facility in Albert Street, Newport, provides emergency accommodation for single people aged 18 years and over.

Staff work closely with residents to identify their individual support needs and help them identify goals. They ensure residents receive the appropriate support they need from other organisations and agencies.

People have their own room but share communal areas such as the kitchen, lounge and activity/fitness room.

Young persons (16-24) emergency accommodation

We provide accommodation and support for up to 42 young people in three dedicated hostels based in Torfaen, Abergavenny and Chepstow.

All three offer excellent facilities with self contained units fitted to an extremely high standard. A great deal of emphasis is placed on encouraging young people to pursue further education and training.

Accommodation for adults with complex needs

Clarence Place, Newport was our first project and opened in 1983. With a grant from the Welsh Assembly Government, the building was transformed and now provides accommodation for people with multiple support needs.

People receive 24 hour support from staff who work closely with other organisations and agencies to ensure residents receive the appropriate level of support they need.

Emergency family accommodation

Our temporary housing scheme is an initiative that ensures homeless families, who may qualify for social housing, do not have to live in hostel or Bed & Breakfast type accommodation whilst trying to secure permanent housing.

We provide safe, comfortable, fully furnished houses for homeless families to ensure families stay together and live together, whilst awaiting a decision regarding their homeless status.

Our staff visit the houses on a regular basis offering help and advice on tenancy issues and liaise with Newport City Council.

This initiative is run in partnership with Charter Housing (the landlord), Solas Cymru (the managing agent) and Newport City Council.

Community Living

Three permanent shared houses and one temporary shared house complement our accommodation at Clarence Place. Our accommodation offers assured tenancies in the permanent houses and alternative move on options in the temporary house. All tenants in the houses receive regular support from workers who are partly based in the houses.
