Solas sailing adventure

Following their success of being one of our Big 5 winners last year, Solas received a call from The Cirdan Sailing Trust asking if they fancied another sailing voyage! Thanks to successful fundraising and generous donations, Solas secured ‘Faramir’, a 15 berth vessel, for three nights.

Alison Webb, Beth Gill and Jacquie Laurie, along with residents from Hales House and Monmouthshire, set off on their sailing adventure in March but due to bad weather condition the group only experienced a small amount of sailing. They kept themselves busy doing daily chores, preparing and cooking meals for the whole crew and ensuring the deck and sails were spick and span. Despite looking a bit green following the experience, they all enjoyed themselves and said how much they would love to do more.

The next sailing adventure will be happening sooner they think, as plans are afoot to set sail again on 26 June!
