Solas rewards residents….
Recently, 20 people supported by Solas in Newport, hit Alton Towers for what was a day packed full of fun, screams and laughter. The trip was organised having asked residents what they would like to do as part of their incentive scheme and was funded by an “Awards for All” grant secured from the Big Lottery.
The incentive scheme rewards those individuals who have engaged in positive and meaningful activities and has proved to be a great success.
We asked some of the people who went along to share their experience with us and give us a ‘flavour’ of how much this trip meant to them:
“I haven’t laughed and smiled as much for over 20 years – life really begins at 40! I would personally like to thank the staff who organised the trip and participated with us to make sure all the residents had a great day. A really big thank you to Kevin Bowen, my ride partner, between us we conquered every ride in Alton Towers at least four times. I was wondering if Solas could send me and Kevin to Disneyland Paris to attack the rides there, please?” – Shane
