Solas collects Pat Chown Award 2010
Solas were delighted to pick up the Capturing Creativity, Pat Chown Award 2010 for its Homeless to Help (H2H) project, at the recent Community Housing Cymru Conference dinner. Set up in 2000, the award is in memory of the late pat Chown who dedicated a huge part of her life helping to meet people’s housing needs in Wales. John Chown, the late Pat’s husband, presented the award, together with a cheque for a £1000 to be donated to a nominated charity.
H2H is a reward based project, started in April 2009 to tackle anti-social behaviour in the local community. Clients attend workshops around topics such as tenancy issues, budgeting and being a good citizen in exchange for rewards, which can be exchanged for household goods or social activities.
John Chown was invited to Hales House recently to present the £1,000 cheque to Outer Limits, Solas’ chosen charity.
