Homelessness World Cup
Sweden took the lead swiftly, but Wales fought back with two incredible long distance goals and appeared to be in an excellent position to win just when Sweden added three more goals to the game. Wales, however, did not flinch and kept their rhythm. By the end of the first half they returned 4 more goals to make it 4-6.
The second half was equally dynamic with a lot of opportunities for both teams. Sweden did everything possible to get back into the game. They pressed on and the energetic attacks proved to be successful adding a further 3 much deserved goals under, it was still not enough to turn the game around though. Wales kept the lead and after two further spectacular goals they proved victorious & clinched the Community Cup. A great job!”
On the HWC website, in the Welsh Dragons blog, there is also a quote relating directly to Paul Scarfi & his contribution to the Welsh team:
“We have also had incredible input from JAN COLLARD and PAUL SCARFI who are attending as support workers for the boys. These two people are amazing at what they do and have the best interests of the players at heart whilst still maintaining an honest and loyal relationship with team management – a difficult but crucial balance required from a support worker that will help ensure the tour is a success for the team!”
Chris, Billy & Paul will be asked to give an interview upon their return to give an inside account of the what the World Cup experience meant to them. Look out for this update. Well done guys.
