A New Community Resource Centre for Solas
Solas are currently working in partnership with Fairlake and Charter, developing three shop units next to our Clarence Place scheme, that have become available for rent. We will be developing these units into a ‘Community Resource Centre’ for the people we support and for individuals from our local community.
This is a great opportunity for Solas residents to play a big part in shaping this project and they have been asked to share their ideas about what skill-based and leisure activities they would like to see facilitated at the properties. To make this happen and to further increase our outcomes – skilling people up, providing learning, training and employment opportunities and also by providing meaningful activities – it’s going to be really important that we all work together to make the service as innovative and engaging as we possibly can.
Although the provision is going to be Newport based, when open, it will be accessible to all Solas residents, regardless of where they live
