Solas young person’s accommodation schemes in Monmouthshire went all out recently to help young people of the area get involved in positive activities to encourage them to engage in education, training and employment. Residents and staff from Woodstock House, Hill House and Compass attended County Hall, Cwmbran where Monmouthshire’s ‘Engage, Where Next, Your Choice’ event was held.
Throughout the day agencies from the area showcased their services, highlighting the many ways young people can get involved. The activities were designed to engage young people to help them realise their own potential. Solas offered a wide range of activities that totally stole the show with staff doing an amazing job facilitating t-shirt and pottery design workshops, food tasting and fitness competitions, guitar sessions and cake decorating – all of which went down a storm with everyone.
Young people from Solas also enjoyed a great day of fun activities and met agencies that could help with their personal development. Brian Adcock, Chair of Solas and Nick Taylor, Assistant Director of Solas also dropped by to show their support.
We would like to say a big thank you to our fantastic staff members who worked so hard co-ordinating and facilitating the event.
